Frequently Asked Questions

01What are IV drips and what are they used for?

IV drips, or wellness intravenous therapy, are infusions of vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, amino acids, and antioxidants delivered directly to the bloodstream through a vein. By bypassing the digestive system, near 100% absorption is achieved, far higher than oral supplements. They’re used to boost energy, strengthen immunity, rehydrate, improve skin appearance, recover from hangovers or intense exercise, and support detoxification.

02How much does an IV drip session cost in Miami?

In Miami, typical prices range from $125 for a basic hydration drip up to $400-$800 for premium drips with NAD+ or high-dose glutathione. At Gascon Medical Center we offer accessible packages and monthly membership discounts. Visit our promotions page or call (786) 454-3880 for our current menu.

03How long does an IV drip session take?

A typical session lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the cocktail type and your vein size. Simple hydration or vitamin C drips can take 20-30 minutes. More complex drips like NAD+ or Myers Cocktail take 45 minutes to 2 hours. We provide a comfortable chair and you can work, read, or relax during the infusion.

04What types of IV drips are available?

We offer: Myers Cocktail (B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, calcium — ideal for energy and general wellness); Immune Boost (vitamin C, zinc, B complex to prevent or fight colds); Glow / Beauty Drip (glutathione, vitamin C, biotin for radiant skin); NAD+ IV (cellular energy, mental clarity, anti-aging); Hangover Recovery (hydration, electrolytes, anti-nausea); Athletic Recovery (amino acids, electrolytes, antioxidants); Detox Drip (glutathione, vitamin C, minerals); and Weight Loss IV with lipotropic compounds.

05Are IV drips safe? Do they have side effects?

IV drips are very safe when administered in a medical setting by trained staff, as at Gascon Medical Center. Side effects are rare and mild: slight discomfort at the puncture site, cold sensation at the start of the infusion, a transient metallic taste, or mild dizziness if administered too quickly. We do a pre-screening to rule out contraindications (kidney or heart failure, allergies) before every session.

06How often should I get IV drips?

It depends on your goal. For general wellness maintenance, once a month is sufficient. For immune support during flu season, every 2 weeks. For therapeutic protocols (NAD+, athletic recovery, post-surgery), sessions can be more frequent (1-2 per week) for a defined period. In your consultation we design a personalized plan.

07Does NAD+ really work for anti-aging?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme crucial for cellular energy production and DNA repair. Its levels decline with age. Preliminary studies suggest benefits in mitochondrial function, mental clarity, sustained energy, and addiction recovery. The FDA has not yet officially approved it for specific anti-aging indications, but clinical evidence and the experience of thousands of patients support its use as metabolic and longevity support.

08Does IV glutathione lighten skin?

Glutathione is the most potent antioxidant produced by the body. Some patients report that with regular sessions they notice brighter, more even-toned skin with fewer spots, due to its effect on melanin and reduction of oxidative stress. However, the FDA has not officially approved injectable glutathione for skin lightening, and effects vary between people. We use it mainly for its detoxifying and antioxidant benefits.

09Can I get an IV drip while pregnant?

Some basic hydration drips with B vitamins and vitamin C may be safe during pregnancy, but always with OB/GYN authorization. Drips with NAD+, high-dose glutathione, or lipotropics are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult with your gynecologist and our team before scheduling any session.

10Do you offer in-home IV drips in Miami?

Yes, Gascon Medical Center offers in-home IV drip service in selected areas of Miami-Dade. A certified nursing professional comes to your home, office, or hotel with all sterile equipment. The home service has an additional cost. Call (786) 454-3880 to check availability in your area and schedule.

11Do I need any tests before an IV drip?

For basic and wellness drips (Myers Cocktail, hydration, standard vitamin C), generally no. For advanced protocols like NAD+, high-dose vitamin C (over 25g), or chelation, we do recommend prior labs: kidney function, liver function, electrolytes, and in some cases G6PD deficiency. Our medical team guides you through each step.
